Photographer for a surprise engagement on the Jungfraujoch. It is in the Bernese Alps, connecting the two high peaks Jungfrau and Mönch. It’s at an elevation of 3,466 metres (11,371 ft.) above sea level. The air is thinner. You are advised to move around at a slow pace.
Rémy contacted me by e-mail from Geneva. Unfortunately we could not organize the weather! It was originally planned for Saturday. But Rémy made the last minute decision to propose on the Thursday. Bad weather was predicted for Friday and Saturday. I am flexible and was prepared for a change of dates. (This does happen to take advantage of better weather.)
Covid-19 means that in the year 2020 the Jungfraujoch is less crowded than normal. There are no travel groups. This place can get very busy at times!
I waited for the couple on the “Plateau” where Rémy proposed. His girlfriend said yes! A couple close by started applauding! We then went to the Sphinx Observatory. There is a large observation deck on the weather observatory.
This location can be very busy. It’s not suitable (in my opinion) for couples wanting a private engagement. The “Sphinx” is not suitable for an engagement (in my opnion) The floor is a metal grid. Drop the ring and it’s gone!
