Perfect Wedding in the Grand Hotel Giessbach

It is performed by an official from the Zivilstamdsamt in Interlaken. It was one of several wedding ceremonies on the day. (The hotel only holds the ceremony on one day each month during the season. The spectacular Grand Hotel, Giessbach is a Swiss historic hotel. It has appeared in a couple of movies! It is a beautiful location in the mountains above Brienzersee lake. You can get there by car or by ship from Interlaken or Brienz.

I recommend this hotel to anyone getting married in Interlaken. It’s a short walk to Interlaken Ost from the Zivilstamdsamt. A relaxing cruise on Brienzersee lake to the dock at Grand Hotel Giessbach. I would recommend paying extra for first class tickets on the ship. If you are lucky, the bride and groom will be invited on to the bridge of the ship. There is a furnicular railway that takes the guests up the mountain to the Grand Hotel. It’s not free!

It’s an ideal location to celebrate a wedding in Interlaken. Stay for brunch!
