An exclusive wedding in the western part of Switzerland. Location was the lake side Hôtel Jean-Jacques Rousseau, CH-2520 La Neuveville. I managed to get the happy couple on their own for a 20 minute photo shoot.
Afterwards, I was the DJ for four hours! Not a problem for me as I have been a professional DJ since 1978. I started working in the nightclubs of Scandinavia before touring Switzerland in 1996. Working at family events with my own disco started twenty years ago. I have worked all over Switzerland. The owner of my apartment tells me that I have seen more of Switzerland than she has ever done.
My music style is determined by the client. Normally I play oldies from the 60’s to the latest hits. Also Ballroom and Rock music. I do not play Hip-Hop, Trance, Electronic etc. I prefer to entertain the guest. Not educate them. I work with CD’s and not a laptop which gives me better contact with the guests. Guests can plug in their iPhones, etc. for special songs or their laptop for presentations. I have a radio microphone ready for the speeches, etc.
Photographer and DJ – how does it work?
Normally I work 2-4 hours as the photographer before taking a 2-3 hour break whilst the guests eat. (I don’t want a meal.) I am not paid for this break. I start to work for 4-6 hours after the break as the DJ. My camera is ready for “cutting the cake” or “the first dance” but nothing else (speeches, games etc.).
