Stephi had no idea that Collin was going to propose to her as they took their morning walk in the Swiss Alps. Collin had contacted me a month earlier and we organized everything by e-mail. I was to secretly photograph them. Which is difficult when you are on top of a mountain and there are only a few people around.
I arrived early and positioned a bench in relation to the sun. I didn’t want them to have the sun in their faces. Fortunately, Collin remembered this important detail.
He has smuggled a ukulele in his rucksack and started by serenading Stephi. She didn’t know that he could play this instrument. He had secretly taught himself over the past few months with the help of videos from YouTube.
Stephi did remark to Collin that there was someone taking a lot of photos of them! I was also taking pictures of the scenery and trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. Collin proposed and Stephi was overjoyed. Japanese tourists close by clapped and shouted “congratulations”. I was introduced to Stephi!
As you can see, the mountains around Mürren are spectacular! Perhaps for engagements and weddings in the Swiss Alps.
