Wedding Photo Shoots in the Swiss Alps Are More Popular Than Ever 💍🏔️

Yesterday, while waiting for my clients in Grindelwald, I noticed two different couples walking around in full wedding attire, ready for their photo shoots. It reminded me just how popular destination wedding and post-wedding photography has become in Switzerland.

Just a few days before that, I was in Zermatt with a lovely couple from Japan, capturing their wedding portraits with the magnificent Matterhorn as the backdrop. I’ve been fortunate to photograph many couples in wedding outfits in some of Switzerland’s most iconic locations, and every session is unique.

One thing I always appreciate is when couples tell me in advance if they’ll be wearing wedding attire. When a bride is wearing a wedding dress, the pace of the photo shoot naturally changes. Extra time is needed to help arrange the dress, choose suitable locations, allow for changing shoes if necessary, and make sure every detail looks perfect in the photographs. These sessions require more planning than a standard couples’ shoot.

The couple I was meeting in Grindelwald hadn’t mentioned they would be wearing wedding clothes. In fact, when I asked during the booking process, I was told otherwise.
