A wedding on a sunny day in Zermatt in November. Olympia and Dominic posed outside the Gemeinde for some pictures with the iconic Matterhorn mountain. Afterwards they went inside to be officially married in Switzerland.
(You cannot be officially married in a church in Switzerland.)
After the informal ceremony the couple rode a horse carriage to another ceremony. This was a wedding ceremony in the Catholic chapel on Winkelmatten.
The couple and guets posed for more pictures outside before we parted company. I took a leisurely walk back to the railway station. Taking pictures on the way.
I love to explore Zermatt.
My day
I left Interlaken at 5.50 a.m. and was in Zermatt at 8.20 a.m.
The ceremony in the Gemeinde was at 11 am.
The room for the Civil Ceremony, the official wedding, is situated on the 2nd floor. It’s a room used for meetings. Nothing special in my opinion. Unfortunately.
Olympia and Dominic had to employ a translator to translate the ceremony into English. (Required by law.)
There are no cars in Zermatt. There is a taxi service with electric vehicles. Olympia and Dominic arrived at the chapel in a horse and carriage from Benny.
