I was in Zermatt in the beginning of August 2023 looking for locations for a surprise engagement.
There are plenty of locations to choose from with the spectacular Matterhorn mountain in the background. I wanted an area where I could have a photo shoot afterwards. A hike down a mountain trail seemed the best idea. The Gornergrat is a popular tourist destination. I decided to walk down from the Gornergrat (3,135 m – 10,285 ft) to Riffelberg (2582 m – 8471 ft.)
I returned a week later to photograph a Japanese couple in their wedding clothes. The agency in Tokyo wanted the photo shoot to be in the Sunnegga area (2,288 m). This is a challenge on a sunny day with no clouds to provide shade. The direction of the sun makes it difficult when you want to pose the couple with the Matterhorn mountain in the background.
It’s also a family area and there are lots of children running around.

[…] in the week I was a photographer in Zermatt. Similar situation on top of the mountain. The sun was low in the sky and it was a challenge. […]
