Lauterbrunnen Engagement
An unexpected marriage proposal on a bright, sunny day amidst the mountains with a view of Lauterbrunnen.
We followed our usual routine. Andy approached and asked me to take a picture of them. This allowed me to position them perfectly with the mountains and valley as a backdrop.
Suddenly, Andy dropped to one knee, and I rushed back to my camera. Thankfully, it was on a tripod and ready to go. I managed to capture this unforgettable moment in their lives.
The sun often casts shadows across faces, which can be problematic. Personally, I find this unappealing but it does happen when doing a twirl. I’ve observed that some photographers embrace this effect.

My fiancé and I are over the moon with the photos John captured for us. With only 5 days notice, John was able to help me pick the perfect location and nail down the logistics. The photoshoot was immaculate. He got the perfect background, lighting, and angles for the proposal. He then worked with us to arrange a photoshoot in two equally beautiful locations overlooking Lauterbrunnen Valley and in the town of Lauterbrunnen in front of the waterfall and chapel.
John gave us every one of the 600+ photos with the full raw quality. He edited the best angles and got us a big chunk of the photos same day and the rest within a day of the original shoot. We ended up favoriting over 100 photos that he sent, which I thought was a very impressive ration of keepers. We had more keepers out of these photos than most proposal photographers would have given us total.
John’s prices are SO reasonable, especially compared to the many photographers that take advantage of people to charge exorbitant rates of 2K Francs for a shorter session, less photos, and no doubt equal or lesser quality.
I’m so happy that I was able to work with John for my proposal photographs. I cannot recommend highly enough.
