Marriage Proposal Overlooking Lauterbrunnen
My last surprise marriage proposal of 2023 was with Alex and Leyla from California. The last day of the year. I wondered what was going on when we met at Lauterbrunnen railway station.
It was a surprise for Leyla. I wondered what was happening when Alex introduced me to Leyla. Apparently she had seen some of out text messages and wondered what was happening. Alex said that he had booked a guide / photographer for their visit to Wengen. I was able to talk to Alex alone when Leyla visited the restroom in Wengen.
The plan was for the couple to follow me from the station to the location without Leyla knowing about me.
The 31st December started with sun and finished with a storm. My weather app showed some nasty weather starting around 2 pm. It was correct! I was happy to see clouds blocking the sun. The sun is low in the sky during the winter months. It can shine directly into the camera. You don’t get the mountains in the background. Things like this are why you should use an experienced photographer like myself. Every day is different. The overnight storm brought snow as you can see in my next report – an engagement on the 1st January, 2024.

Try planning a journey from a main line station like Zurich to Interlaken for discounts. Then add another journey on the normal price. For example: Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald.
