Surprise Engagement on Männlichen – Just Before the Storm
This surprise engagement on Männlichen Mountain was one we certainly won’t forget! Elevation: 2,343 metres (7,687 ft).
The weather forecast had been warning of a storm around midday, with thunder and lightning expected across the region. On an exposed mountain summit, safety always comes first, so we kept a close eye on the changing conditions.
Thankfully, everything went according to plan. The proposal was a complete surprise, she said “Yes!”, and we had just enough time to capture some beautiful engagement photos before the weather began to change.
Not long after we finished, the dark clouds rolled in, the wind picked up, and it was clear the forecast had been right. We packed up and made our way back down the mountain just before the storm arrived.
Mountain weather in Switzerland can change incredibly quickly, which is why experience and careful planning are so important. By monitoring the forecast and staying flexible, we were able to create unforgettable memories while keeping everyone safe.
Sometimes, it’s those dramatic skies just before a storm that make a photo shoot even more memorable. 📸⛰️⚡
There is a way to photograph and video the engagement without being discovered by the girlfriend. How do I do it? Well it’s a secret. But I don’t leap out from behind a tree or a large rock!
