Winter Engagement in Lauterbrunnen
It is always a privilege for me to photograph a life changing event in a couple’s relationship. A winter engagement in the Lauterbrunnen region with a lovely couple from Santa Monica, L.A.
The plan was to have a surprise engagement on the way from visiting the Jungfraujoch. We kept in contact during the day using Whatsapp. Garrett sent me a message when they were leaving the Jungfraujoch.
Visitors to the Jungfraujoch from Interlaken usually take the train to Grindelwald Terminal. Then the Eiger Express cableway to Eigergletcher where they connect with the train to the Jungfraujoch.
They took the train to the Kleine Scheidegg when they left the Jungfraujoch. Changed trains at the Kleine Scheidegg for Lauterbrunnen. The location was on the way!
It’s winter time and the sun is low in the sky. Sunny days create a challenge for a photographer. The sun is shining over the mountains into the camera lens. Also on the faces of the couple creating shadows under their eyes or around their noses.
