Photographer for a surprise engagement on the Royal Walk. Michael asked Zoe to marry him high up on Männlichen mountain with the Lauterbrunnen Valley in the background. Elevation: 2342 m – 7,296 ft.

Michael had chosen 2 days for the engagement. The Eiger mountain was covered in cloud on the first day. He chose the second day which was bright and sunny.

They had booked into a hotel in Wengen Alpine resort. The hotel had cable TV which broadcasted live webcam pictures from different locations in the region. They could check the weather. I was in contact with Michael from 7 am on the first day. He decided to cancel after breakfast and propose marriage the next day.

I am able to be more flexible towards the end of September.

We had sunny skies the next day. I was unknown to Zoe. Michael and I made contact in Wengen and they followed me to the location on the Royal Walk. Afterwards we went to the top of the summit and took more pictures.

There is no shade from the sun on the mountain. It’s also very bright and lower in the autumn and winter months. This can be a challenge for photographers who want to avoid shadows on faces, etc. I instructed Michael on what to do and he positioned Zoe with her back to the sun.

Autumn Break

Some cable cars and mountain trains close on the 23rd October. The Harder Kulm in Interlaken is open. Check before buying a mountain pass like the “Top Of Europe“. It could be a waste of money.
