According to the make-up artist I work with, who has experience working with several photographers across Switzerland, people who cross the yellow fence at some locations in Switzerland can be fined CHF 135 per person.

She has worked on a number of photo shoots in Switzerland and has seen the restrictions enforced. It’s therefore important that photographers and their clients respect the barriers and remain within the permitted area.

I always want my photo shoots to be enjoyable, but safety and respecting local rules come first. There are plenty of great ways to create beautiful photographs without crossing the fence!

Please Respect the Fenced-Off Area at Grindelwald First

There is a large area near the Gems Hütte at Grindelwald First that has been fenced off. Visitors should stay behind the fence and respect the restrictions.

The person who regularly patrols the area and helps keep the mountain clean also reminds visitors when they have crossed the barrier and asks them to return behind the fence.

I’ve noticed that some visitors have been complaining about the restrictions on TikTok.

Fine of 135 Francs or more for going over the other side of the fence.
