Surprise Engagement in Iseltwald
Lucas surprised Kareen with a marriage proposal during a couples photo shoot in Iseltwald.
A very nice couple from Brazil visiting Switzerland. It was raining at 7 a.m. but there was visibility. No low clouds like the previous weeks. They could roll in any minute as the day got warmer. Lucas decided to wait a couple of hours. Risking the possibility of waiting in line with people from tourist buses.
An hour later I received a message that they had jumped on a bus. They were in Iseltwald. I quickly put on my coat, grabbed my equipment and headed to my car. I can get to Iseltwald in 15 minutes without speeding. The rain had stopped!
There were about 12 people in front of Karen and Lucas. They didn’t hurry taking their selfies! It was at least 40 minutes before we were able to use the pier. People have the mentality that if they have to wait for other people then others can wait for them. Everybody is very friendly waiting in line.
They watched as Lucas went down on one knee. A cheer rang out from the small crowd. Some shouted “Congratulations”. A very nice atmosphere.
Nothing staged. It’s as it happened. I have one camera on automatic on a tripod. My other camera is in my hand taking close ups.
