Surprise Engagement on Grindelwald First 💍🏔️

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a surprise engagement on Grindelwald First with a lovely couple from the Channel Islands. At an elevation of around 2,168 metres, it’s an incredible setting for such a special moment.

Once again, the morning sunshine provided a bit of a challenge. Bright mountain sunlight can create strong, harsh shadows across faces, but after photographing couples throughout the summer in these conditions, I knew what to expect and came prepared with the equipment I need to handle the light.

Timing is also important at First. The summit has become increasingly popular, and an early start is definitely advisable. Arriving early can help avoid the long queues at the gondola station in Grindelwald and, just as importantly, gives you a better chance of enjoying your engagement photo shoot without lots of other visitors wandering into the background.
