Engagement at Bachalpsee Lake
A surprise marriage proposal at Bachalpsee lake in the middle of July 2023.
I recommend an early photo shoot for this location. It gets very busy during the day. The people seem to pop up everywhere in the background.
I was on the first gondola from Grindelwald (8 a.m.). It’s a 25 minute journey up to Grindelwald First. After a quick visit to the restroom, I was walking to Bachalpsee. Ahead of Kane and Simone. I kept in contact with Kane and sent him a message when I arrived at the lake.

Allow one hour to walk to the lake. The first 20 minutes after leaving Grindelwald First is uphill. I like to go ahead walking at my own pace with my heavy backpack.
Please remember there are no restaurants, kiosks etc at Bachalpsee lake. Bring your own water and picnic.
Check the time of the last gondola down to Grindelwald as soon as you arrive on Grindelwald First.
